A few weeks ago we welcomed the beautiful Brody Durkin to our Rusty Womens Brand Ambassador team. We we’re so excited to pop the question and she said yes! … Brody is the epitome of the Rusty girl, she is such a wild free spirit and an absolute go getter for life. Get to know a little bit about our new family member below!
I’ve got a few nicknames, the boys usually call me "The Durkin’". One of them started it and it carried on!
I was born on the 28th of May, 1999.
Which makes your star sign?
A Gemini Baby!
Yep, we’ve got a little red and tan kelpie, named Sage! She’s our little light in our life, side kick, mongrel.
Where did you grow up and where is your current home in the world?
I grew up in the hills of Perth, we ran a muck in the bush most the time, resorting to the family shack in wedge with my older siblings for our ocean time. We learnt everything there. How to drive manual cars, surf, fish and ride motorbikes (when you could!).
I now live in the north west of Western Australia, a little town on a cape in the middle of the ocean. I moved about 2 years ago once I met my partner, Boon! He dragged me there pretty quickly
What is your side hustle?
I have just opened a Pilates studio at home, she’s going well so far!
So what does a day in the life of Brody look like? Tell us everything from wake up to sun down…
Hmmm our days are very different. I’m an early riser, usually up by 5:30am! Annoy James and drag him out of bed by 6. We usually have a plan the day before if the weathers good. Either surfing or diving the reef somewhere in the mornings, followed by squidding or diving the gulf in the arvo. A nice size trout to bake for dinner doesn’t go astray!
Who and what inspires you to do what you do?
I think the lifestyle up here inspires us, the weather is always glamour so we usually want to explore new things! All of our friends are doing the same, so we are usually team up and make a day / trip out of it!
What would you say your style is?
I would say my style is very casual, usually black and white colours, sometimes venturing out towards a cream. I also love a good leopard print! Since being with Rusty I have been lucky enough to explore into their range, dressing like a lady for once!.
What are your go to pieces from Rusty?
My go to pieces are probably the “Love me not” bikini, easy to surf in as it has a draw string with an under wire. The bottoms are firm and don’t fall off if you get a flogging!
Secondly, The sunrise beach shirt - great to chuck over the shoulders if you are sitting on the boat for hours on end. Lastly, the Penny Kick Flare shorts, they are high wasted and very comfy, with a stylish twist!
