Harry Bryant is off to Texas
Stab High is a world class surfing event in the heart of Texas featuring 20 of the world's best surfers and the team here at Rdot thought we ought to send Harry Bryant along to show the squad a thing or to. The details on the event from Stab are....
This pool and this man-made wave are an extraorindary feat of modern engineering. For five hours, these guys will compete against one another in the most high performance wave in the world.
The event is fully catered with food trucks, alcoholic drinks and access to swim in the pool.
They have French artist Lucas Beaufort (who also did all the event artwork) on site in the artist studio and he'll be painting a mural on site, guests will be invited to join him and kids will be able to draw in oversized colouring books and posters. A slip and slide will also be on site to keep the kids busy.
Ticket price includes use of the lazy river, Royal Flush slide and amenities provided by BSR Cable Park. Kids (and hopefully adults, too) will be able to surf the small reform wave that our competitors are riding during the event. Numbers per session will depend on the capacity of lifeguards on site. Stab is hoping to get whoever wants to surf into the pool, however.
Poolside plus another secret act will be playing on the grass over the pool following the final for sunset hour. After that, six randomly drawn guests can surf the pool alongside pro surfers Bobby Martinez, Jackson Dorian and Shane Dorian.
Kids under 12 are free but you'll still need to register for ticket entry.
If you're flying in, Austin and Dallas are about 90 minutes from Waco. Hotels are about 10 minutes from the pool and include the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, La Quinta, Indigo Suites, Marriott and Quality Inn.
