In 1985 Rusty Preisendorfer started his own shaping line called Rusty using a large R with a dot as his logo. This was referred to simply as the ‘R Dot’. A symbol which did not take long to move onto apparel as the brand became more established and recognised in the world of surfing. Before Crowds pays homage to these early beginnings of Rusty and the ‘R Dot’. Here we will be bringing back original pieces we believe stand the test of time, personally sourced from the great man’s wardrobe himself.

The final came down to the Long brothers, Rusty and Greg, Carlos Brule, Damien Hobgood, and Nic Lamb.

In his signature style of communication, Noa Deane describes his first impressions of Brazil after leaving the airport as thus: “You know how when you get off the plane in a new place, you look at how much stuff there is around? “That bar is my spirit animal!” is what Tanner Rozunko said when we told him we were doing the TUFF premiere at Don the Beachcomber and that we wanted his band The Rooms to play.

 Lydia and Mimi are both self-made models hailing from the east coast of Australia. Around the same age, same height and coming from similar backgrounds the pair hit it off instantly. Meeting for the first time on the shoot in Bali, by the time they left they were “besties” with matching tattoos. Rusty is honored to announce its first flagship store located in the iconic surf town of Manly (Sydney, NSW). Rusty burst onto the scene with surfboards and following many years later was the launch of an apparel range, which continued to grow into the brand you see today.
